PowerBasic Compiler for Windows: The Ultimate Free Compiler for Windows Developers

There is the option of downloading Dew Lab Studio Free Download. PowerBasic Compiler is a code compiler that runs on every version of Windows starting beginning with Windows 95 to Windows 7. It provides programs with visual interfaces that are presented as an open window. It is able in creating executable documents, as well as DLLs that can be used to create optimal files. The machine codes generated by PowerBASIC are among the fastest and most productive codes available in the marketplace as a result of scale and performance. It is easy as compared to the top compilers that are available to Pascal, C ++, Fortran, and other programming languages.

This tool helps locate duplicate files on your hard drive. This is a true binary file comparison able to detect duplicate files even if they have very different file names or are located in different subdirectories under the same parent directory. The complete PowerBasic/CC source code for this utility is included. The source code is made available to help promote the awareness of the whole line of compilers and other programming tools available from the fine people at PowerBasic. Tell them you saw their name on the IFX Group web site. Featured download for August 2004. (If you want to direct others to this file, please use this quick link.)

In the past I've used Satellite Tracker program to track ISS and satellites real-time with LX200 with great success. The site is located [here]. A few years ago the orignal author sold it. The current owner is now aging and is looking to pass it to another willing to improve upon it. The owner sent out a message to all his users informing of his retirement. Hopefully, someone out there is willing to continue on with this aging but very useful software. Software can be downloaded for free [here] but you have to register first to see download. Here is the message I received from author:

It sounds like the author is trying to sell the software and presumably keep it proprietary. The only way to ensure that software will continue to be used indefinitely is to release the source code under a free open-source license and then host it under any number of free hosts for open-source software, such as GitHub.com. As free open-source software, it can then be freely downloaded, copied, and redistributed to many other hosts, as well as freely modified to work with multiple platforms.

If a programmer really wants to do a lot of low level WIN32 coding, it would seem that he/she should learn C (not C++). But for a long time Visual Basic programmer that is counter productive, since they are so used to BASIC. So is there an alternative to C for VB programmers ? Yes, there is. While I could point to a number of indie BASIC language compilers for Windows, such as Free basic or Pure Basic, the best BASIC language IMO is Powerbasic. It is not free, but it is low cost and well worth the price. Why ?

Supported languages include Visual C++, C++ Builder, Delphi, PowerBASIC, Clarion and most other Windows programming languages. Many free and open source compilers, such as Pelles C, Lazarus (Free Pascal) and MinGW can also be used with SocketTools. We also provide support for the free Visual Studio Express versions.

In no particular order, here are some links to other web sites or resources in the general area of computer programming. They are oriented primarily towards COBOL and IBM Mainframe subjects, but not limited exclusively to those areas. There are also links to C/C++, Visual Basic, X86 Assembler, Linux, REXX, ISPF, text editors, and TN3270 Terminal Emulators. New links have been added for free GnuCOBOL compilers for Windows (Windows XP, Vista, Win7, 8.1, and Windows 10). 2ff7e9595c
